To register for the AIDA 1* Introduction to Freediving course, an individual must:
• Be 18 years old or older (16 years old with parent/guardian's consent)
• Be able to swim at least 100m non-stop
• Have completed the AIDA Medical Forms
• Have completed the Liability Release
You will learn the basic theory of freediving and how to prepare yourself for a breath-hold dive, including breathing, the duck dive, finning, buddying, and safety techniques.
To register for the AIDA 2* Freediver course, an individual must:
• Be 18 years old or older (16 years old with parent/guardian's consent)
• Be able to swim at least 200m non-stop without fins OR at least 300m non-stop with mask, fins, and snorkel
• Have completed the AIDA Medical Form
• Have completed the Liability Release
To successfully pass the AIDA 2* Freediver course you will need to perform a 2-minute breath-hold, swim 40m underwater with fins, and dive to 12m in open water.
To register for the AIDA 3* Advanced Freediver course, an individual must:
• Be 18 years old or older (16 years old with parent/guardian's consent)
• Have completed the AIDA Medical Form
• Have completed the Liability Release
• Have successfully completed the AIDA 2* Freediver course
Alternatively, have completed the AIDA 2* Crossover Evaluation if crossing over from another freediving agency or possessing other adequate freediving experience.
To successfully pass the AIDA 3* course you will need to perform a 2-minute 45 seconds breath-hold, swim 55m underwater with fins, and dive to 24m in open water.
